We dispute and remove any inaccurate or incorrectly coded citations and accidents.
There are times insurance companies will either attach a citation or incident to the wrong driver on a policy or code an accident in their system as at fault against the driver who wasn't at fault. Most insurance companies report to LexisNexis which means the miscoding of information eventually is obtained by LexisNexis and shared with every insurance company on the free market. This usually causes the insureds rates to increase no matter what insurance company they get a quote from and no matter what state they receive the quote in. These miscoded violations and accidents can also cause an insured to be denied coverage and can even effect potential employment opportunities. When a loss is not the insured's fault, and the accident progresses through subrogation, the accident originally coded as at-fault should then be recoded to not-at-fault. The changing of the coding of an accident is supposed to occur once the insurance company has obtained a payment agreement between them and the at-fault party either through a private payment agreement or through a court order. A lot of times, insurance companies don't go back and recode after receiving a legally binding payment agreement though. Also, We have seen peoples rates increase, and have even seen people denied coverage or dropped over $0 claims on their record. We work with LexisNexis and the insurance companies to get all incorrectly assigned citations and accidents adjusted appropriately, and permanently removed from their record, so that it doesn't negativity impact our client's insurance rates and lives.
We assist our clients throughout the claims process.
In the event of a claim, we speak to our client(s) immediately upon our first notice of loss. The first thing we do is make sure that everyone is ok. After we have security in everyone's well-being, we work to help our clients become calm and confident by ensuring that they understand the claims process and their rights as a claimant while setting expectations for every step moving forward and answering any questions they might have. After we have achieved this, we work to gather all information necessary to file the claim with the appropriate insurance company. Once the claim is filed, we provide the claim number and adjuster information to our client, if available, so that our client knows who they can expect to be speaking to and when they can expect to speak to them. We give our clients their claim number and all the information they will need in case they need to contact the claims department or adjuster before the adjuster makes first contact. We always try to keep direct contact with the claims adjuster, but things don't always work out that way due to reluctance of the claims adjuster sometimes. In the event that the claims adjuster doesn't want to keep us in the loop, we regularly check in with our clients throughout the claims process to see how things are going and to ask if they have any questions or concerns. If our client indicates to us that the claim isn't going as they expected, we gather further information from them and contact the claims adjuster directly to understand what has occurred and identify how we might be able to find resolve for the situation. If resolve cant be obtained, we set expectations with the claims adjuster on how our client will be moving forward. We assist all of our clients with every claim and fight for them if things happen to go sideways.
We directly submit information to the Indiana BMV.
We have a direct log-in for, and are able to submit Certificates of Compliance, SR22's, and SR50's directly to the Indiana BMV. Instead of waiting for the insurance company to send off the necessary documentation for our clients when they have a big batch, we submit the information directly and immediately. This gives us a faster turnaround time than the insurance companies. We understand the importance of compliance with the Indiana BMV in regard to rules, regulations, and state laws in order to maintain a valid license. By having a direct login to the BMV, we are able to save our clients time and provide them piece of mind that the appropriate form was submitted accurately and in timely manner, which they need to keep a valid license. We understand that the state of Indiana requires proof of insurance (Certificate of Compliance) once an accident or citable offense takes place. As soon as our client's notify us, we immediately submit the proof of financial responsibility because we understand that many Hoosiers have received suspended licenses because proof of financial responsibility was not processed within the time constraints required by the state law.
We check insurance rates on vehicles before purchase.
We run the VINs and check the rates on as many vehicles as our clients want, free of charge, while vehicle shopping before they decide to purchase a vehicle. Many people don't check their rates before buying a vehicle only to find out they cannot afford the vehicle payment along with the insurance. We also pull various reports, such as Carfax, FaxVIN, and other reports. We check original owners, auction history, service records, accident history, and for salvaged titles. By doing this, we make sure that we are insuring our client's vehicle appropriately while not misrepresenting anything about the vehicle which could cause problems for our insured in the event of a loss. This also helps us alert our client to any accidents connected to the vehicle that can, and most likely will, cause the rates for the vehicle to be higher than they would be if the vehicle had not been wrecked. This also helps us to see if the vehicle they are looking to purchase is everything the dealer claiming it is. There are good and honest car lots and car salesmen out there. Unfortunately, there are also many dishonest and bad car lots and salesmen. Though Indiana does have the Motor Vehicle Protection Act, no one wants to go through arbitration or to wait months even a year to go in front of a judge to either get their vehicle replaced or get their money back. This would be on top of the time that it takes an auto dealer to complete four attempts at fixing the problem. The best course of action is always to help prevent our clients from buying a lemon if at all possible.
We find drivers who hit our clients and flee the scene.
Sometimes people flee from the scene of accidents. Maybe they were under the effects of drugs or alcohol? Maybe they don't have any insurance? Maybe they don't have a valid drivers license? Other examples could be suggested, but at the end of the day whyever someone chooses to flees the scene of an accident doesn't change the fact that our clients will pay for it for years. Their rates will go up due to the claim and the the loss of their claims free discount. We have many resources to track down the driver, or at least the registered owner of any vehicle that flees the scene of an accident. We have software to find information with just a license plate number. We have blank FOIA request forms and know exactly who to send them to within the Indiana Department of Transportation. We will go to any business and home with security cameras that might have captured the accident and we will obtain copies of those videos. We will make calls to shops to give them a heads up on the year, make, model, and known damage. If all else fails, we have two very effective and efficient private investigators that can legally get all the things we legally can't. If a driver hits one of our insureds and takes off, we will exert any and all legal efforts to find them and hold them accountable to serve the best interest of our clients.
